That’s good to hear. Keep the tonics flowing for a few weeks. I have to wonder about the cause. Infection of this kind normally starts from within
I was thinking the same; puncturing with a needle and letting it drain in the bath, aided by massage. But, it looks like it’s going down on its own now… knock on wood. Looking less red and angry. I thought I saw a small hole in it during today’s bath. Maybe the head burst.
Try using a hypodermic needle. It would be much less invasive. I would chill the fish for a few hours beforehand, although it shouldn’t be very painful. If nothing comes out, then you might try lancing it. Can you do it?
I was thinking, just puncturing the abscess with a needle would encourage it to drain on its own; right?
