Goldfish bottom aquarium possibly due to high nitrates
Goldfish bottom aquarium due to high nitrates or sinking issue. In most cases high nitrates are to blame. Fish get a little closer to the bottom as nitrates rise in an effort to equalize the pressure caused by nitrates. Robbing the blood of oxygen, nitrates is a painful condition. The fish loses its appetite at first, however, as the pressure increases, the body begins to bend sideways
Increased water depth, reducing water temperature as nitrates are being lowered gradually is the key
A goldfish may be on the bottom due to the loss of the ability to rise. Sinking issues occur because there is no food in the tract. The swim bladder organ is connected to the intestinal tract by a small tube where gas is exchange. Co2, carbon dioxide is created from the waste fish produce. If there’s no food in the tract, there’s no waste
When waste isn’t present in the tract, there’s no gas either, keeping the swim bladder organ from functioning
