Goldfish sucking air surface indicates the water is low on oxygen. The fish is begging for oxygen, not food. Our fish must get oxygen from water, not air. Water takes on oxygen from air above the surface. Enclosed tanks deprive the water of oxygen, which also deprives the fish.
