Because you didn’t note, I’m going to assume you have no idea what your water parameters are; very important. There’s really no way I can take a guess at what’s happening until I see these readings
If you have a master test kit; great. If not, can you obtain the following?
ammonia, nitrite, nitrates, KH, GH and pHYou can either buy a kit at the pet shop or take samples of your tank (and tap to compare) for free readings. Ask for specific readings if you do so
Have you noticed any symptoms at all, such as gasping at the surface (looking as though they’re begging for food)?
Are the fish eating? Were the fish that died bloated?
Follow the instructions for this 911 water change
You’ll learn a little something more about water if you do, and your water will be better after the fact. Most sick fish are suffering from poor water quality, but we normally don’t see sudden death, unless you just didn’t notice any symptoms; some are difficult to read
You’ll notice that there are instructions for lowering water temps in the article. Lower temps to 64f per instructions
Keep us posted, Venus
After you finish up with the water change and when you have time, read the 10 steps found here; 10 Steps to goldfish keeping
VenusKeymasterNice to see you Life. No one could log in because I forgot to install the register and log in feature in the menu; funny huh? lol
I thought we had it set up so only the passwords would have to be changed, but maybe you joined just before that came about. We’re in the process of bringing over the members from the other site; hope it works. I say we, but I mean my son. lol Creating these pages has been one of the most challenging projects I’ve ever worked on. I have a whole new respect for those that build websites for a living. I’m exhausted, but it was worth it
How’s your fish doing in the smaller aquarium?
It’s nice to see that some of our old members will go the distance to be here. Persistence is omnipotent
VenusKeymasterAh…..I’m not alone. So nice to have some company
Ah….you’re so welcome Nick. You’ve been a real pleasure to have around, and I hope we can keep you coming back for more. I have your tank photo in the article here and there; it’s a great example. I see you’ve attached an older photo, so here ya go if anyone wants to compare
Thanks for your support
Hey, how’d you get your photo so big? lol
